Eli Siegel-Bernstein
I am a freelance journalist based in the Middle East covering politics, culture, and society. I'm most interested in perspectives overlooked in otherwise widely covered issues. Through news and feature stories, my reporting strives to capture how global issues like climate change, political representation, and conflict affect ordinary lives.
I got my start in journalism at the independent Egyptian publication Al Manassa and began freelancing in March 2026. I have studied Arabic for ten years in my home country, the U.S., as well as in Jordan, Morocco, and Egypt. I report in English and Arabic, and translate Arabic-language journalism for English-speaking readers.
I hold a BA from Wesleyan University, and I am a former CASA@AUC Arabic fellow.
